[[[ WCW: A Modern Day TEW Saga - Monday, Week 4, March 2021]]] It's been a few weeks since Elon Musk announced he had purchases World Championship Wrestling from WWE Inc. and planned revive the once promising wrestling company. While not surprising, it's safe to say that Musk has been hard at work. Musk announced today five big announcements for the company. "We'll cut right to the chase. Everyone wants to know who to expect to be wrestling in WCW, who is coming back, who is new, who's jumping ships. I completely get the questions and excitement for that, however my response is this. Way back when, there wasn't a thing called online dirt sheets, there was a time when surprises and anticipation wasn't spoiled. I fully intend to bring that back into our world here." Musk mentioned at a press conference. "With that said, here's what I will do for everyone. I am going to tell you five things here, and five things only. Four of them are talent who have signed on to WCW and plan to help make WCW what it once was before. First, Big Poppa Pump himself, Scott Steiner, will be back. He played a huge part of WCW's success and when he reached out, I felt like he still lives and breathes WCW." "Second. I couldn't believe this guy has still been a free agent, although he loves working the independent scene so I get it. RVD, Rob Van Dam is part of the WCW family now. Couldn't be more excited. He brings tons of charisma and excitement." "Third, while I mentioned I am a big fan of this business, we have to remember it's just that, business. So I made a business decision and lured a star away to come home. What is WCW without Chris Jericho himself? Jericho is back to help lead the charge for us." "Fourth, and this is the biggest. I have the one part of me that thinks I should hold this one back, biggest, it's huge but I am not an idiot, not promoting this guy would be one of the dumbest things to do for marketing purposes. Forget the next big thing, he is one of if not thee BIGGEST thing in our business today, that's right, Brock Lesnar has decided to put his mark down in WCW. He was the guy I wanted, I know he has loyalty elsewhere and I will never stomp on loyalty or shame him for it. But he knew and I knew we had a huge opportunity here and I am pleased he is part of the WCW family as well." Musk didn't stop there with the announcement of those four superstars. He gave a potential look at what to expect when shows and events start taking place. "We're going to jump right into it. We have talent that we have signed that can work right now or they may have to wait out their notices to their current employers. We're very very close to green lightening everything. We are in the works with television talks but I won't go further into that. But know this, like I said, we're gonna get things going from the get go and not enter in slow. Right off of the bat, it'll be a tournament, a big one, and the winner of that will get what it's all about...the WCW World Heavyweight title. You already know four of the competitors, the rest you won't know until you hear their music hit. That's all I've got, I've already spoken too much and given out more than I would've wanted, get ready people!" Musk finished with a grin on his face. Given the signing of Lesnar and Jericho, it's clear to see Musk isn't afraid to throw some of his billions around to get the product he wants. Stay tuned for more as we report on when a television deal comes into play and when dates start to get set in stone.
